ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

EVELYN Z.B.​

 

Trained as an actress, she is currently the Director of the Pitouch Company and general artistic director of the Quai de scène theatre in Strasbourg, and has been one of the promoters of avant-garde theatre. Since it was founded, the company has created at least a dozen plays that it has written and directed, and has received a number of awards and accolades.

 

Her constantly experimental creative research continues to expand the theatre, its languages, its limits and its interactions, including geographical and linguistic ones, bringing together all artistic expressions on stage, and venturing into the exchange of knowledge, thoughts and creations strongly linked to theatrical and artistic research, building up an exchange work between France and Latin America, where her works have been presented.

 

The themes she tackles with her company are the fruit of her observations and concerns about the contemporary world, dealt with in the Pitouch touch, characterised by its strength, radicalism and even provocation. Her work defies the fourth wall and conventional scenarios, connecting audiences with both traditional and more sophisticated stage technologies that leave no one indifferent.
